The Second Relationship Loss Really Hurts...

August 17, 20243 min read

Hello ladies, this is Coach Fiona May from Women On Transition. Let's have a heart-to-heart about something that many of you might be experiencing or fearing: the second heartbreak after divorce. You know, that relationship that comes after your marriage ends and somehow manages to knock you off your feet all over again. It's a topic close to my heart, and I want to share some insights with you.

First off, I want you to know that if you're going through this, you're not alone. So many women I've worked with have been exactly where you are. It's like we dive into these post-divorce relationships with all this hope and vulnerability, right? We're thinking, "Hey, I've been through the wringer once, surely I can handle this!" But here's the thing - that very openness can leave us more susceptible to hurt.

Now, don't get me wrong. Being open isn't bad. It's beautiful. But we need to be open with wisdom, you know? It's like we're carrying around this invisible backpack filled with unresolved emotions from our marriages. Trust issues, fear of abandonment, grief - they're all in there, weighing us down without us even realising it.

And let's talk about this whole "rebound" idea for a second. Society's got it all wrong, telling us these relationships don't matter. But they do matter, beautiful lady. They matter because you matter. Your heart matters. And sometimes, fighting against that "rebound" label can put so much pressure on us to make things work.

Here's what I want you to remember: This second heartbreak? It's not just pain. It's an opportunity. I know, I know, it doesn't feel like it right now. But trust me on this one. It's showing you where you still need to heal, and where you need to grow. It's like a mirror, reflecting back all the parts of yourself that are crying out for attention and love.

So, what do we do with this opportunity? We embrace it, ladies. We feel the pain - really feel it. We look at ourselves honestly and ask, "What patterns am I seeing here? What do I really want in a relationship now?" Because let me tell you, you're not the same woman you were before your divorce. You've changed, and that's a good thing!

This is your time to focus on you. Nurture yourself. Explore new interests. Reconnect with old passions. Build that independence. And most importantly, forgive. Forgive yourself, forgive others. It doesn't mean you're okay with what happened, it just means you're releasing yourself from the burden of carrying all that hurt around.

Remember, every relationship - even the painful ones - is teaching you something. It's shaping you into the magnificent woman you're becoming. And that's what I want for all of you - to become your best, most authentic selves.

Now, I know this journey isn't easy. That's why I'm here. If you're feeling lost, if you're hurting, if you're ready to do the work to prepare yourself for a truly fulfilling relationship - my team and I are right here with you. Because the man you'll meet after you've done your healing work? He'll be a hundred times better than anyone you might bond with when you're still hurting.

So, what do you say, ladies? Are you ready to turn this heartbreak into an opportunity for growth? Are you ready to become the best version of yourself? ARE YOU READY TO HEAL SO YOU NEVER GET HURT AGAIN?

I work with women who are committed to helping themselves, who are coachable and ready to be resourceful and invest to create their beautiful new future. I'm ready to help you every step of the way.

Remember, you're strong, you're resilient, and you're absolutely worthy of love - and we must start with teaching you how to love yourself, gain new tools and skills and attract quality men into your life.

I've done it for myself and would love to show you the ropes. Let's do this together.

With all my support and belief in you,
Fiona May x
