We're dedicated to providing you with access to some of the best advice, tools, and professional coaching in the industry, all with the goal of helping you achieve a divorce outcome that not only makes you happy but also keeps you healthy.
Our Story: When we were going through our own divorces, we experienced the overwhelming feeling of isolation and the struggle to find positive guidance. We didn't have many role models who had divorced successfully while minimising the negative impact on their lives. We were faced with the daunting task of finding divorce support and other professionals when we weren't even sure where to begin.
Our journeys were intertwined, with both of us being mothers to teenage and young adult children. Our marriages ended within a month of each other, each due to our husbands having affairs. At the age of 46, we felt an unparalleled sense of loneliness. It was a period filled with depression, sadness, and embarrassment. We often felt like the subject of conversations, uncertain of whom we could trust, and afraid of what the future held.
We cried daily, battled anger, and harboured bitterness, feeling cheated and hopeless. The fear that things would never change and that we'd end up alone weighed heavily on us. We wished we had a positive and inspiring community around us, people to talk to, caring professionals, and individuals who truly understood our feelings and offered validation. Unfortunately, what we found were groups filled with negativity, blame, and bitterness.
This is why Women On Transition was born. We yearned for a safe, empowering space to heal, grow, and learn to love ourselves again, and now we invite you to join us in the safe place we have created. In 2024, Sandra Lee became a part of this mission, and together, we're dedicated to giving back to those who find themselves in the same place we once were. We're here to share our experiences, both the lessons learned from our mistakes and the wisdom gained from doing things right, and we'll guide you towards what we know will serve your higher good.
In the world of divorce, many factors are beyond your control – your ex, their lawyer, the judge, family, friends, and your children, to name a few. However, one thing you can control is yourself. We're here to empower you to take positive, inspired actions, to be patient and not rush into dating, to learn to love and believe in yourself, and to make ethical decisions that allow you to move forward with dignity and grace. Mistakes are a part of life, and we've made our fair share.
Our lives aren't perfect, but they are undeniably great. We have a profound mission at Women On Transition, five amazing young adult children between us, and two incredible men we love deeply. Achieving this level of happiness wasn't easy, and it required a conscious effort not to let our divorces define us. We believe that you can get there too, by taking control of your journey and the way you conduct yourself.
Women On Transition is a place where you can grab a cup of coffee, tea, or a glass of wine, watch our videos, read our blog, and explore the site at any time of the day or night. What Women On Transition Isn't: A man-hating site, a pity party or a place where we promote divorce – We are romantics at heart and believe in the beauty of marriage when it's a healthy and loving relationship.
We firmly believe that you are responsible for your own happiness, and it's your job to create a life you love. We're here to help you pursue that goal!
As a parting note, let me share a funny divorce memory. During the early days of my divorce, my comedian son walked into my bathroom just as I was getting out of the shower. He looked at my naked body and said, "Good thing you didn't get that tattoo on your boob you always talked about, or it would be a long-stemmed rose!" Sometimes, laughter is the best medicine. So, choose to laugh and be happy. Where you are right now is TEMPORARY. It is a TRANSITIONAL JOURNEY and what you CREATE can be BETTER THAN YOU'VE EVER HAD. You've got the pen in you hand, so write a wonderful inspiring second chapter to your life!
Sandra and I wish you the very best in health, wellness, and happiness on your journey ahead!
With love,
Fiona May and Sandra Lee
